Lana is situated in sunny Val d’Adige between Bolzano (20 minutes) and Merano (10 minutes). In Lana you enjoy holidays amidst apple orchards, far from the hustle and bustle. The climate is mild, the plants are Mediterranean, the people have a sunny disposition.

A large number of sporting and cultural opportunities ensures that every day of your holidays in Lana is a special highlight. Hikers glide effortlessly in a cable car up the local mountain, the car-free nature idyll of Monte San Vigilio. Take your bike and cycle southwards directly from our house on the level cycle path Via Claudia Augusta. Fortresses, castles, churches, all kinds of museums, mystical places and nature highlights also tempt you to excursions in your holidays in Lana.

You should not miss a ride up to car-free Monte San Vigilio: At the top you find the fascinating church of St Vigil’s, the mineral spring Bärenbad (bear bath) and idyllic nature. The parish church of Lana di Sotto houses the largest altar in the Alpine region, the Gothic screen-altar by Hans Schnatterbeck.
The fruit growing museum Lana and the maze garden Kränzelhof in Cermes are also tempting destinations. In Merano the arcades with their colourful shops, the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, the Touriseum, the spa and the promenades attract visitors. Attractions in the surrounding area include Castel Tirolo, the MMM – Messner Mountain Museen, the Ötzi museum, the Knottnkino cinema and Lago di Caldaro.

Who finds their way through the maze? Enjoy bracing downhill rides on the summer toboggan run on Merano 2000. Be brave and paddle river boating to Bolzano, conquer the high wire park and aim for the target with bows and arrows on the 3D archery course. Children’s eyes also light up at the sight of spectacles of nature of ice holes and waterfalls. Eagles and other impressive birds of prey can be spotted on Gufyland directly next to Castel Tirolo. Cycling, themed walks and swimming are also on offer for keen adventurers during family holidays in Lana.

South Tyrol is movement. Pleasure cyclists and families push the pedals directly from our house Wiesenstein, explore the neighbouring villages and cruise on the former Roman road Via Claudia Augusta through orchards to Bolzano, to Lago di Caldaro and on to Lake Garda. Return comfortably by train. Mountain bikers conquer the local mountain Monte San Vigilio and woodland and forestry paths. Those who are not so keen on working their way uphill glide into lofty heights in a cable car. Hikers, Nordic walkers and joggers have plenty to smile about on Monte San Vigilio and the surrounding mountains. Popular leisure activities also include tennis, golf, fishing, paragliding, parachuting and others.

In winter the sun invites you to go walking. Skiers, snowshoe hikers and cross country skiing enthusiasts can enjoy their sports to their heart’s content in the surrounding skiing areas. Schwemmalm in Val d’Ultimo, Merano 2000, Plan, Obereggen and more - all easily reached within a 30-40 minute car journey. From Lana you easily reach the most beautiful Christmas markets in South Tyrol.
